Subway Div 1 Youth League

The boys from the Mountains played host to a team from the Ricky Herbert Football Academy (NZ) in an International friendly to mark their opening trial game for season 2012. The game was played in the right spirit with few fouls and great sportsmanship.

For a first out run the boys showed plenty of commitment and skill against a quality opposition. Going down 3-0 just before halftime spurred them into action, and with some quality finishing from striker Harry Drew, the game finished in favour of the visitors 4-2. Special mention to the tireless defensive efforts of Mitchell Drew-Rugg who ran all day in what was at times sapping heat. Great start lads.
