2015 end of season Championship Final Series

12 Jul 2015

On the 18 & 19 July 2015, some competition teams will be playing their final matches in the regular competition season. There will be some teams who will continue past this date:

1. 6 team competitions will conclude on the 25 & 26 July 2015.

2. Rescheduled washed out matches will conclude on the 25 & 26 July 2015.

3. 10 team competitions will conclude on the 25 & 26 July 2015.

The team finishing on top of the competition ladder after these last rounds will be declared the winner of the their respective competitions by the Nepean Football Association. These teams will receive recognition from the NFA by awarding a competition winner medallion to each player, coach and manager as well as a plaque presented to the club acknowledging their achievement.

Commencing on the 1 & 2 August 2015 will be a series of round robin matches. These additional matches will extend over a period of three weekends. The attachment provides information as to how the round robin matches will be structured. The round robin series will include a final involving the top two teams of each group (refer to attachment for further information).

It needs to be emphasised that the winner of the round robin series does not replace the winners of the competition. The winners of the round robin series will be acknowledged by the NFA for their achievement distinct from the winners of the competition. The winners of the round robin series does not displace the winners of the competition.

There has been some confusion in previous years that the winners of what was known as the 'final series', were declared the winners of the competition. This is not correct. The round robin matches or 'final series' as previously known, is separate from the regular competition and does not determine the overall winners of the competition. However these matches should provide teams with an additional incentive to achieve a positive result regardless of how they performed in their regular competition.

All the best for the remainder of the season.
