Dear Members,
With Season 2019 soon to kick off starting with our MiniRoos competition and in-house trial matches this weekend, I would just like to take a moment to thank the many people that have worked tirelessly over the last 3 months to ensure that Football happens again at Summerhayes Park!
The registration and grading period is always a very busy time for our Committee, but this season it was made a little more entertaining when we were gifted a new registration platform from Football Australia.
This morning at 9am, our team nominations were due for submission to Nepean. Now complete, we await our teams placement and competition draws for Season 2019 . To get us to this position, many things needed to happen;
- To Dale Wade-Ferrell, strongly supported by Trevor Cox and the SUFC Grading Team, the Club would like to acknowledge you for all your time, dedication and effort ensuring our footballers are graded and placed into teams on time. A process that started in December of last year, you and the team have worked continuous nights gathering, inputting and reviewing data from the grading sessions. There is a very high level of dedication and effort required to complete this process. You are greatly appreciated – Thank you!!
- To Damon Dreeves - in your role as Compsec, thank you for creating our training rosters, submitting team nominations to Nepean, creating our MiniRoos draw and for organising all our trial games that will take place over the next 3 weeks.
In your role as Chaplin - your support is appreciated by many on our Committees – thank you!!
- To both the Management and Football Committees – Chris, Glen, Sue, Iain, Jess, Ciaran, Angel, Rachel, Renee, Steve and Stephen!
Thank you for all your support during registration days, ensuring that accounts are settled, ensuring our ground allocation and paperwork is submitted to council, assigning Coaches & Managers to teams, completing team formation and nominations, ordering, organising and allocating team kits and training equipment, the organisation and execution of Muster Days, cross referencing and checking all the Working With Children data and Coaching accreditations, and finally, for the overall support you provide our members. We are regarded as a benchmark Club that other Clubs can learn from by the Nepean Football Association - something for which all members can be proud.
- Lastly, I would like to give a very special thank you to our Registrar Annette Harrop supported by René Dempsey. You work so hard and without any fuss, nose to the grindstone, quietly working together in the background, delicately balancing members individual requests whilst looking after the needs of an age group or the broader development of the club as a whole. Your contribution during this time of year is appreciated by all who work with you. This season, the introduction of PlayFootball created a very challenging environment for us at times. You filtered many of the members questions, spent hours reporting faults and issues, liaised with the governing bodies whist still managing to complete the registration process in a timely manner. You are very appreciated and on behalf of all our members at SUFC we thank you!!
At the close of the official registration window, we stand at having well over 1000 members. Another extraordinary effort by the SUFC Committee.
As you make your way around Summerhayes Park this season, please take the time to stop and thank your Committee for making Football happen at Summerhayes in 2019!!
Regards,
Pete Dempsey I Chairman
