This is very exciting news for female football!
At a Club level, we are continuing our commitment to growing and improving participation and opportunity for our female players.
Earlier this year, Springwood United's Female Football Coordinator, René Dempsey, submitted an application on behalf of the club to the Office of Sport to secure a grant through their Local Sport Grant Program.
We are delighted to share with you that we have been successful in securing funds to support our Goals for Girls program. René sought funds to provide a ball per registered female player for the 2020 season. This is wonderful news!
The funding will allow us to supply our female players with THE most essential tool required to participate in and make the most of their training sessions and enable them to continue to kick a ball in their own backyard.
It is wonderful to see the growing support for the females in our game both internationally and locally.
