You will no doubt be aware by now, that the 2021 Winter Football Season has been abandoned. The Nepean Football Association has been placed in a difficult position and has had to make a disappointing decision along with many other Sydney Football Associations.
For Springwood United FC, it means we turn our attention to wrapping up the season and planning for a strong return to football in 2022.
In the coming weeks, the club will work on a plan for the collection of playing kits (jerseys) and training equipment. We will also co-ordinate a COVID-19 safe opportunity for the collection of trophies and team photos. Teams will be notified once we have a plan of action.
Current restrictions have seen the cancellation of our Junior and Senior Presentation days that were scheduled for September. We will advise the details for this year’s Annual General Meeting as they are decided.
Springwood United FC is in the process of calculating registration refunds. The final amounts will be determined and communicated once we have an understanding of what our governing bodies will be passing down. The Club will also need to determine how the refunds will be issued to our member base. Whilst this is being finalised we would appreciate your patience and assistance.
Coaches and Managers are reminded to submit their team’s ‘End of Season Reports’ and team special awards ASAP. Please check your emails for details.
Long Service nominations are to be emailed for consideration to the club secretary Susan Dunn at secretary@springwoodunited.com.au before 13th August 2021.
As we look ahead towards our 55th season in 2022, the Club is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people with fresh ideas to join our Football or Management Committees.
The Club is also seeking to employ a new Canteen Manager for next season. Please forward any enquiries about joining our committees or management of the canteen to:
Susan Dunn – secretary@springwoodunited.com.au
Within the NFA’s most recent correspondence is information relating to competition standings and a reminder that plans for Summer Football are underway, pending the current lock down duration and the restrictions that will no doubt follow.
Once again we hope you are all staying safe during the lockdown and look forward to seeing everyone return in 2022.
Stay safe and healthy.
Pete Dempsey Dale Wade-Ferrell
Chairman Football Manager
