Good afternoon players, parents, coaches and managers of U5 to U7 MiniRoos teams and our Football for All family and the Lyrebirds team.
I would like to start by thanking everyone for their patience and understanding as the club has navigated this very wet and problematic start to the season. The football committee and broader club are very keen to see our most junior footballers take to the field and there have been a number of plans formulated and then scuttled by the ongoing poor weather.
At present, Summerhayes Park will remain closed and likely to be unfit for play well into May meaning no MiniRoos matches will take place until the fields are mown and repatriated back to a safe playing condition.
Your football committee has been attempting to secure alternative venues nearby in order to get the kids on the grass, and a number of plans have been formulated.
At this stage there is the intent to run MiniRoos matches in some way next weekend, with a contingency for games to go ahead regardless of the weather.
Could you please ensure all of the players, parents and family members are aware that matches will not be on this weekend, Sat 30th April.
Please keep across club communications in regards to opportunities to play next weekend, as we may require teams to RSVP their availability.
Thank you all once again for your patience and understanding, we look forward to seeing those smiling faces on the fields as soon as possible.
Dale Wade-Ferrell
Football Manager
