Ruby’s coach Nick Devine is helping to steer the Club in an effort to support the highest level of senior women’s football in the Nepean FA association. Joint training with the Ruby and Intermediate women’s teams will help a transition to a first and reserve grade team in the future, similar to that of the Waratah League.
Nick said “We are fortunate enough to have a wealth of talented players already at the club, new players joining us from other clubs or re-joining us having played reps recently. This presented an opportunity to build upon the progress of the past few years and shape the future of the ladies premier team by helping players learn to play the Springwood Way whilst upholding the Club’s values and creating an excellent team spirit.”
Senior player Rhiannon was asked about the evening, and said "It's great to see the amount of interest and talent we have here at the club. This is my third year playing at Springwood. We have not just great footballers and passionate coaches but we’ve made great connections with team mates who I consider friends now as well”
Senior player Khara said she was “personally looking forward to another year of growth in female football and watching the squad execute the ideals and goals shared on the night.”
There are still spots available in our Intermediate Women’s teams and our All Age and Over 30’s women’s teams. Go to our homepage for instructions on how to Register to play in 2023.
A big thank you to all the coaching staff and players who attended and made the night a great success.
