Dear SUFC member.
You would have received a communication from the Nepean Football Association earlier today advising that our Club has received a disciplinary strike under the new Three Strike Policy.
This is due to an incident that occurred at a recent Waratah League match where a spectator entered the field of play and yelled out to the on field referee and had an altercation with a ground official.
This behaviour is completely unacceptable and the Clubs committees acknowledge the disciplinary action and support the NFA's stance on player and spectator behaviour at matches across our association.
Please take the time to read and understand the communication sent to you today.
As well as a substantial monetary fine, the ramifications for our Club is that the team is on a 6 month good behaviour bond. Further complaints and incidents will see the Club attract additional strikes which can lead to loss of points and standing down of teams and clubs from the NFA competition.
All players, coaching staff, managers, parents and spectators are reminded of their responsibilities and of the Clubs Code of Behaviour policies. Members can pro-actively access and sign on to the Players Code of Behaviour Agreement Form. This will take a few minutes to complete.
Teams will benefit from appointing suitable persons to act as Marshals and are to remain in the vicinity of the teams supporters throughout the entire match. See attached information regarding Marshals.
In the coming weeks all competition team players will be asked to read and sign the Clubs Code of Behaviour for Players and the Club encourages our members to read our policies pertaining to Coaches, Managers as well as Club Volunteers, Parents and Spectators.
Members are also reminded to direct all communications for the Nepean FA via the Club by forwarding to the secretary@springwoodunited.com.au email address.
Your committee members thank you for your support of these initiatives.
